If an approved CNA wishes to work in Michigan, she/he must request an exemption form for nurse aide training. The applicants must have verification of certification sent from the previous state of certification to the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry. Verification will be reviewed. Upon approval the applicant will have to take the written and skills exam to be placed on Michigan’s registry. Note that you may work up to 4 months is a Michigan as a CNA while you are waiting for exemption, however, this is up to your employer
