To renew CNA Certification in Iowa:
(1) A pre-printed recertification form will be mailed out to the CNA 2-3 months prior to your expiration date. If you still do not receive any notice, you may obtain renewal form by contacting Iowa Nursing Assistant Registry.
(2) Requirement for renewal is that you are required to work nursing or nurse-related duties at least 8 hours in a24 month period to retain certification for two years. In case nurse aide does not work at that occupation for two years, the aide will have to retake both competency tests to get their status updated on the Registry and to be eligible to work in Iowa.
(3) Completed form with required documents must be mailed to the address indicated in the form.
To renew Expired CNA Certification in Iowa:
(1) Contact Iowa Nursing Assistant Registry.
(2) If the registry provide form, complete the form with required documents and fees. Mail the form to the address indicated in the form.
